Ceramics based on boron nitride are offered in multiple forms of high purity such as Pyrolytic BN (up to 99.99%) and composite grades like BAN, BSC, and BMA which are engineered by combining Bn with aluminum nitride, zirconium oxide and silicon carbide to augment particular attributes. These ceramics are made mainly by hot pressed sintering or chemical vapor deposition. Boron Nitride ceramics further possess high thermal conductivity with low electrical conductivity, and are still able to withstand thermal shock and chemical attacks, making these BN ceramics broadly applicable in electronics for thermal control, high temperature environments like plasma arc equipment and semiconductor processing, and handling molten metals because of their non-reactive nature and stable temperatures.
